11/14/23 Yes, I am kind of a big fan! It's funny how I never paid any attention to NFL, and would watch the Super bowl game not even knowing what teams were playing . As the season has gone on, I have gotten familiar with more of the 49ers team players and watch the post game talks. Purdy is of course awesome and I just love watching him play. He is already breaking lots of records. If he didn't play well from this point on, I would still be the biggest fan. It's crazy to me how quickly people go from being a big fan to being a hater and just ripping on him. The 49ers lost 3 games in a row. Purdy threw 3 interceptions during that time and the fans turned on him. I had faith and confidence in him and I didn't care if he messed up or lost all the remaining games, the guy has been awesome and wears his faith on his sleeve. Purdy has such an eye for where to throw and he makes amazing passes. This past weekend the Niners played the Jaguars and won 34-3. Wow what a game and so fun to see the highlights. His faith is so solid and I know God is with him out on that field. He gives glory to God and is in the spotlight for the world to see. I love that he shines his light on and off field. During the "Bye" week,( I just learned what that is), he came to Iowa. He is now engaged to a gal that went to ISU and lives on a farm. He came back and rode in their combine during harvest and made an appearance at the ISU game. He loves Iowa State and always has a lot of great things to say about ISU and the college fans. I have also learned more about George Kittle. He is a wild and crazy funny guy. He and Purdy seem to have a great connection and they have a fun Iowa rivalry. George played for U of Iowa. He is super energetic and fun to watch and hear talk. He also married a gal who went to U of I. McCaffery and Bosa are the other names that I hear all the time. I so enjoy watching them and this team and I think we will see them in the Super Bowl. You can date this, quote this, but I think our boy Brock is going to the Super Bowl!
11/19/23 Sunday afternoon Purdy led his team to a 27-14 win over the
Buccaneers at Levi’s Stadium. Purdy’s nerves were more heightened back in that
Week 14 matchup during the 2022 NFL season, but the pressure he puts on himself
to play a better game is higher in 2023. Even after completing 21 of his 25
attempts for 333 yards, three touchdowns and a perfect passer rating Sunday,
there’s more work to be done. “There are still some plays that I wish I had
back,” Purdy said after the game. “Not completely content with that, but it was
a great game with the guys around me, the coaching and the play-calling. All of
it.” Purdy’s efficiency in the passing
game included completing five of his six attempts to wide receiver Brandon
Aiyuk for 156 yards and a career-long 76-yard touchdown play. Christian McCaffrey also played a
large role on the offense with 21 carries for 78 yards while also catching all
five of his targets for 25 yards and a touchdown. The All-Pro running back
believes nothing shakes his quarterback. “He was awesome, just like he is every
game,” McCaffrey said. “Poised, calm, collected and competitive, and made some
amazing plays. He’s always been the same guy. A competitor, a great leader and
a heck of a ball player.” McCaffrey and his quarterback are two peas in a pod
striving for perfection. On a fourth-and-short situation late in the game,
McCaffrey was unable to help his team convert and was seen on the sidelines
visibly upset after failing to get the yardage. That need for perfection might
be why McCaffrey was so moved when he was told about Purdy’s perfect rating. “Dang,
he had a perfect passer rating?” McCaffrey said. “That’s incredible. He’s a
baller. That’s a good defense too. It doesn’t shock me, but it’s impressive.
I’m happy for him.”
