Our string of amazing July weather is about to end. The temps are going to rise this week and get into the upper 80's and 90's with humidity. We have had an amazing past couple weeks in the 70's. I was hoping Jayden could get to enjoy the cool down after being in triple digit Texas temperatures the past month. I have been enjoying my kittens playing on the hay each day. We ride horses, take walks, sit on the patio and do clean up projects. We were super fortunate to have mild temperatures during the county fair as well. It is very uncommon to have mild 70's during fair week. What a blessing, thank you God for the wonderful weather! I recently did a little rearranging in Jayden's bedroom. I removed her homeschool desk and added this cute step shelf. It turned out pretty cute. I also arranged her many horse canvases on her bedroom wall.
Jake is not much of a morning person. Given the opportunity, he will sleep into the afternoon. If he doesn't have a job lined up, he will sleep his day away. He gets some lovely bed head too. The boys are tall and have caught up to me in height. I think Luke is about to pass us all and be very tall.
Jayden continues to rock her sales. She had an amazing week in sales. That girl is really doing big things. I am so proud of her.
I planted wildflowers around my mailbox again in the spring and I enjoy seeing what comes up. I also have cherry tomatoes, zucchini, and yellow squash in my tiny garden.
A local family friend passed away. She was loved and known by so many in the community as a farm family. Her visitation wrapped through the church hallways, up and around the church sidewalks and went for a long line. That sure says a lot about a person! I knew Laurie as her daughter babysat for us awhile. She was very involved in the community and church and had a large farm family. She will be missed by many.
We had some wild cows that belonged to the neighbors. They had been lose and missing for a couple weeks free ranging, eating in all our fields. I managed to see them nearby, opened the arena gate, looped around and got them trapped! It was kind of a big deal as they were super wild and nobody was able to get them rounded up. Earlier I spotted them out in our hay field, but they vanished rather quickly. Another time Mark had them up by the cow barn and we tried chasing them in a pen. They were fast and spooky. Everyone was glad to have them caught and back where they belonged.
