Jayden July Visit

Jayden flew home to have some time with family July 21-27. Friday evening Jayden arrived at 7PM. She has been longing to come home and get out of the Texas triple digit heat. We took her to Olive Garden, per her request. We all decided it just isn't the same and has gone downhill over the years, bummer.  Saturday we were up and on the road early to Williams for Mawgee's baby shower for Jayden. Grandma had talked about doing something with all her friends after the wedding. When Jayden was expecting she decided a baby shower would be just the thing. I joked that Grandma was having a party with all her friends, and Jayden was invited. Grandma said, "well yes that is exactly right." She asked Carina to host it in her home and she had agreed. I know she was overwhelmed with the large guest list and the timing right before her county fair. She likes to be very prepared and have everything planned, house perfectly clean and spotless. It was all perfect of course. Grandma h

Kitties

Each and every day I visit my kittens throughout the day. They get fed morning noon and night and lots of time getting petted. They all 5 purr so loud and meow in their sweet high pitched meows. They are, Sugar, Pumpkin, Spice, Walter, and Skip and all such fun colored. They all want to be petted at the same time and will crawl all over my lap. Oh how I love furry kittens. It has been a long time since I have had so many little kittens. Mark doesn't understand and he thinks I am a crazy cat lady. Maybe I am!

July Things

Our string of amazing July weather is about to end. The temps are going to rise this week and get into the upper 80's and 90's with humidity. We have had an amazing past couple weeks in the 70's. I was hoping Jayden could get to enjoy the cool down after being in triple digit Texas temperatures the past month. I have been enjoying my kittens playing on the hay each day. We ride horses, take walks, sit on the patio and do clean up projects. We were super fortunate to have mild temperatures during the county fair as well. It is very uncommon to have mild 70's during fair week. What a blessing, thank you God for the wonderful weather!     I recently did a little rearranging in Jayden's bedroom. I removed her homeschool desk and added this cute step shelf. It turned out pretty cute. I also arranged her many horse canvases on her bedroom wall.  Jake is not much of a morning person. Given the opportunity, he will sleep into the afternoon. If he doesn't have a job lin

Ames Girlfriends

I have a friend group of 4 that like to get together on occasion. The 4 of us all attend the same church, enjoy getting together for lunch dates, and over the last couple years pool dates. This summer, Sue Ann wanted to go to a rodeo. I knew just the one, Dayton held the IRCA rodeo in July. We sat our chairs on the big hill and enjoyed an evening of rodeo and had a good time! This photo was taken with Laura and Sue Ann before Laura left for a big trip to Thailand. She met her husband on a mission trip to Thailand and her and her husband lived there for many years on missions. They were going to take their kids for the first time.

County Fair

This was the first year having only one child participate in 4H and it is year 13 for me. You would think we would have it down and it would go smoothly and be simple. It came down to the last minute finishing up projects for Luke. In years past we used to do projects over the winter and sometimes in the spring. I mentioned 4H and asked him to take photos over the past year. I kept bugging him to get photos to me to print for fair, it never happened. This was a first in my 13 years, no photos entered in photography. Thankful to Grandma W. Luke was able to start a couple projects right after the 4th of July. It came down to the night before judging that Luke got it all put together. I really dislike last minute preparations. Luke tends to put his time and energy into the things that he feels are important for the fair, such as polishing the trailer and getting his new tires and rims on his truck. Hmmm? He didn't ride his horse near as much as we had hoped, in fact he didn't star

4th of July Spirit of '76

Mark was excited this year to attend the Williams 4th of July parade. It would be his first time in the parade! This time, he was driving the Spirit of '76 tractor. It took a decade to get this tractor restored and back on the farm. It looks amazing! We got some photos on the farm before loading it on the semi trailer and hauling it to Williams. It is quite a process getting it to and from and driving it in the parade. Mark was like a kid in a parade showing off his dirt bike. He reeved the engine and black smoke poured out the smokestack. Luke and Alivia rode the Fat Kat and Big Wheel bikes in the parade for the second year.
