Warren B

Warren Bush passed away from brain cancer the  end of June 2022. A good man with a kind heart, big smile, and lots of laughter will be remembered by our whole family. He was a board member with Mark and a very good friend. Mark and I had last seen Warren in January at his brother-in-law Tom's funeral. Warren seemed frail and weak, however he said he was doing well and had a clean bill of health. Apparently it changed rapidly and his health failed over the past few months. Mark and I knew nothing until we got the call that he had passed away. August of 2020, Mark and I took a bike trip to Wall Lake where we stopped in to visit Warren and Linda. They took us out for dinner and then returned back at their home where Tom and Diane stopped in. Little did we know that would be the last time we saw Tom, who also died of brain cancer Jan 2022. Warren had been fighting cancer himself for the past few years, had a tumor removed and later had throat cancer and lost most of  his voice. Warren

New Wheels

Mark had been talking about selling or trading our Tahoe for a new vehicle for at least 2 years. He had a few vehicles in mind, an Infinity, a Lincoln, and some others. He wanted to get a fancy luxury vehicle. In 2020, Jayden sent me a link about a new SUV, a Jeep Wagoneer. I liked everything about it and also liked the idea of something completely new in the industry. Jeep has never had a full sized SUV. The release date was supposed to be winter to early 2021. We spoke to dealers and were watching the progress. Spring 2021, production came to a halt, like many other auto industries seeking parts made in China. Eventually in 2020, the Wagoneer was released. Mark told me since I would be the one driving it, I could pick it out and I didn't want anything too flashy. He wanted me to look into the Grand Wagoneer, the top of the line version.  I got to take one for a drive and really liked it, but the Grand Wagoneer did not impress me. Wade's Barn & Levi

Wade and Carina's barn was part of the Iowa Barn Tour as well. My memories of the barn go back to when Laugerman's lived there. Angie and I would play in the corn crib making our famous mud and weed pies. We also spent some time in the hayloft exploring. There were always hogs in the bottom barn. Now Carina keeps horses or sheep inside and keeps it spotless. The floor is swept like a house and cobwebs and dust are rarely found.  Here are a few more Wahlert photos, including Levi's preschool graduation. A chip off the ol block with his boots on the wrong feet and one pant leg tucked in and one out.

Birthday & Barn Tour

My Dad turned 74 and we had Casey's pizza, made a brownie cake, and got him a fire pit. Mark, the boys and I didn't get to Williams until 7:00 so it made for a short night. My parents were already tired from a full day of barn tours. They were part of the foundation for barns tour. They had over 300 people stop by and visit the barn. We got a tour also and I was reminiscing all the things I can remember. I recall at one point my dad having sows in every single stall, and baby pigs in the back, and then more pigs in the farthest north pen. He had pigs everywhere. I remember him filling the feed room with a heaping pile 12 feet tall of ground corn into a feed mix powder. He would fill 5 gallon pails and carry them out to the lots and dump them in long rows for all the pigs to eat. He did that for years. I spent a lot of time in the hayloft searching for baby kittens. After school I would climb up and search for the kittens. All our pet cats were tame and would have their babies

Roe V Wade

Luke is always on top of the latest in news. I don't know how, but he seems to always know everything before me. He was the first to call and tell me that Roe V Wade has been overturned just minutes ago. MORE THAN 2 DOZEN STATES TO RESTRICT ABORTIONS AFTER ROE V. WADE OVERTURNED  From the internet.... 6/24/22   The Supreme Court on Friday overturned Roe v. Wade, effectively ending recognition of a constitutional right to abortion and giving individual states the power to allow, limit, or ban the practice altogether. The ruling came in the court's opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which centered on a Mississippi law that banned abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The Republican-led state of Mississippi asked the Supreme Court to strike down a lower court ruling that stopped the 15-week abortion ban from taking place. "We end this opinion where we began. Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of

Hay Hay Hay My Working Boys

We had good hay cuttings this year!  Three cuttings of hay a season makes for some busy work days. Once the hay is mowed and teddered, raked, then baled. If we do large round or large squares, we have a neighbor come in and do the baling. When we do small squares we have the baler and round bale stacker. Then the bales must be loaded on the trailers and hauled to the cow barn for storage. The work is hauling. Back in the day we used to stand on the rack and pull the small squares on the rack and stack. It is still work, but while sitting in the A/C it can't be all bad! The boys are always helping on the farm in many ways.  Some jobs they really enjoy like driving tractors and semis', some jobs they really don't like such as cleaning out grain bins. At the end of a day as the sun is going down, Luke likes to get on his four wheeler and just ride in the hay field.

Wedding's & CR

In early June, Noah was a groomsmen in one of his good friend's wedding. It was fun for me to see all the photos of him and Jayden dressed up. It doesn't happen very often that Jayden is all dolled up and in a dress, a glitzy one too. They clean up rather well! The end of June Noah's sister got married on a destination wedding in Costa Rico. They had a great time traveling and experiencing the island. Ester, Izzy, and Cynthia all flew together and stayed at an all inclusive resort. Jadyen raved about everything and how amazing it all was.  The location sounded like paradise and a place I will put on my bucket list. Mark has always been reluctant to travel out of the US. I on the other hand would love to travel and visit different locations and cultures, to see the world and not limit ourselves to Florida. There is so much more out there in this big world and so many amazing places are just waiting to be visited. Jayden said the wedding was beautiful even though it poured ra
