After the Cyclone Stampede, it was decided that Jayden did not do her share to help and would be suspended. That meant she could not be a club officer or attend the Cowboy Ball. Here is a girl that has never been to a high school dance or prom being denied a chance to go to a dance, not only a dance, but a cowboy dance in which she has been a big part of the club and team. I was so upset for Jayden. I agree that she should have helped set up and tear down and I reminded her of those things at the time. She was given the ok by the team captain. It wasn't that Jayden didn't do her part, she most certainly did, hauled horses over to carry flags, set up barrels, and worked the food stand. Now her coaches are making a big issue out of it. Jayden not only sent emails back, she went and spoke to the coaches personally. They arent backing down. One coach is downright nasty and rude. These two new coaches have become dictators of the club.
On top of all that mess, The whole rodeo team recently found out that none of their expenses are going to be covered from fall rodeo. Team members have to pay back fuel, hotel fees, and truck rentals. That is pretty sad when they started the year out thinking all of that was covered and they would potentially get reimbursed for entry fees on top of that. They were all slapped with a bill they must pay. Some of them up to $600. Fortunately Jayden did not go to North or South Dakota and went to ICCC's rodeo on her own.
It's so sad, I wonder if they cant keep the team going. I have watched over the years and it took so long to build up the team and get them to the 12 members they currently have. ISU needs to support this club,. Most of the schools in the region are NCAA and fully supported. ISU is a club with little to know support. Even the club and team members are so separated that they lack support of one another and money is another issue. Jayden has such a passion for rodeo and ISU is letting her down. It is a big reason she wants to leave and go to college in Oklahoma.
Sadly one of the girls Jayden knew had 3 of her horses come down with a sickness during finals week. She took them to the ISU vet school and 2 of them ended up dying, both her barrel horses. Such a sad ordeal. We cannot imagine.
