The News

What's in the News.... It's not good, what's in the news most of the time. If you turn on the television and watch the 7am, noon, 5:00 or 10:00 news, there is very little positive in the news. There hasnt been a single day that Trump hasnt been in the forefront of the news since his election. He is the number one topic and most criticized. I don't watch the news much at all. In fact I avoid it most of the time and try to just catch the weather channel instead. Every once in awhile, I tune in and get more than I wanted of bad news. This week I heard about a compound in New Mexico on a man's land where some muslims were training young children to become school shooters. They were living in underground tunnels 100 feet long. They were living in filth and starved. There were tons of weapons and shooting targets. A young child died when they performed an exorcism on him. The saddest part, a women lawyer let them off after 2 days since they didn't show proof of an actual shooting plan. The investigators have gone in and bull dozed a lot of the evidence. Seems very suspicious.  Now the judge is getting hundreds of death threats. Go figure.
Another story, a man that worked in an airport baggage department had access to the runway, took a passenger plane (alone) and flew it, he did barrel rolls, inverted, all kinds of crazy maneuvers. He was never trained and said he learned to fly from video games. He said he had a few screws loose, took his last joy ride, and crashed the plane. Another horrible story, a man killed his pregnant wife and 3&;4 year old daughters. 3 days prior to confessing, He was on national news disheartened and begging for whoever kidnapped his family to bring them back. He was an attractive man living in a nice home with lots of beautiful family pictures. The photos show the darling girls and he was interviewed many times on television calm and unsuspecting. You would never point a finger at him. And yet, he murdered and buried them all himself. Sick.
It came out this week that some 300 priests have molested over 10,000 boys. That is sick and sad on so many levels. Words can't even express the disgust of sin of these supposedly Godly men. This is the kind of stuff that turns people so far from God. Theses are just a few of the stories that stand out. The more stories we hear, the worse the stories get, at some point we loose the shock and we become immune to it. That really scares me. We are better off not to watch the news. We are constantly surrounded by and enguled in the sins of the world.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
