ISU Move in... Mark, Jacob, and I took Jadyen to the college dorm's Geoffery Hall. They are such nice dorms! They still have a fresh "new" smell to them. They are neat and clean, air conditioned and modern. They were very organized with carts and people to help move her in. It took one load and we were done. Taylor, Jayden's roommate had already moved in and was there to meet us. Jayden got all her stuff situated and tried to arrange her little space. So many kids were moving in and Ames was a bustling place. Across the street from her dorms is the Alpha Gamma Rho Agger fraternity. The boys were whooping and hollering and playing their music loud. That is the fraternity that I was a little sister in. We also saw lots of sorority girls all done up and wearing skimpy dresses. After watching them prance around for awhile, Jayden told me she made a good choice. She had considered a sorority for about a day.
Move in day for Jayden was very exciting, but yet sad at the same time. For me, Jayden is my best friend. She makes me laugh every day. We talk about anything and everything. She helps me at home in so many ways. I am going to miss her so much. I know she isn't far and I know she will be home often. We have her horses and I know she will want to come home and ride often. At the same time I am excited for her. I see the dorm she is living in, the classes she will take and remember all the experiences I had. There will be new friends, and new memories. She is preparing for a future and this is where it starts. I pray for her journey and am excited for God's plan.
Jayden moved in on Wednesday, I had to pick her up for a dentist appointment Thursday, she came home to ride on Friday, helped me paint my kitchen a little on Saturday before going back to stay. Sunday we picked her up for church at Cornerstone and took her out to lunch. So, it hasn't really sunk in that she is out of the house yet. She has all kinds of stories and funny things to tell me about each day. She is good about calling or texting. I hope that lasts. It is different at home and we miss her already, but so thankful she is close.
