Cornerstone Adoption

I recently became aware of 4 familes from church who are all adopting from Ghana, Africa. I met Janel Sullivan through Cornerstone's Women's bible studies 5 years ago. I follow her amazing blogs. and have watched her family grow. She now has 6 children, 3 of them adopted from Ghana. Their family continues to do tremendous work and projects in Ghana
Of the 4 new families adopting, two I know well from bible study and I am so excited for all of them. I love hearing adoption stories. I wish that we were one of the families adopting, but I am not sure that is what God has planned for us right now. It takes 110% both parents on board.
These families adopting all have several children of their own. To me, that is what makes it even more awesome and special. It is not adoption out of a need to have a child because they are unable. It is a call from God that they are chosen to expand their family through adoption. I want to encourage, help, pray for and follow these families as they go through their adoptions. I am so excited to hear their stories.

Typhanie M. I am following through facebook and have not met personally. She is adopting these darling girls.
Ashley is a neat friend I have met through bible study. She has 3 children under the age of 8 and lives in Huxley. She is super fun, outgoing, and a fashion diva. Ahsley's sister-in-law in the photo below is adopting also.

Carmen, I know through bible study. She is a sweet kind person with 3 young children. Her husband was not on board for adoption until this year and now they have made the decision to adopt 2 siblings.

Jenna, I met through bible study but don't know as well. She has 4 children, one who is adopted, and they are going to adopt 3 siblings.

These are the families in the adoption process, there are so many Cornerstone families that have already adopted. We have a very colorful church and I just adore these little chocolate children running around.

On a much bigger scale, outside of Cornerstone, the most incredible adoption story is that of Katie Davis. She wrote a book and  is amazing. At the young age of 18, she left the US to live in Uganda where she became "Mom" to 13 girls. A single mother living in a poverty ravished country, she adopted these girls from desperate situations. She surrounds them with love and teaches them of the love of Christ every moment of their day.

I pray for these families as they walk with the Lord in obedience to what He has planned for them.
Awesomeness!

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
