Jayden
spent the night at Makenna's along with friend Alyvia. The girls spent the afternoon primping and getting their nails done at the salon where Alyvia's mom works. The Spillman's took the girls to The Pony Express dance. The girls said the dance was pretty lame, only old people and little kids danced. I think they had fun just being together. Today I took the same girls and Jacob to a horse
operation near Altoona. Luke had to stay home because of tummy trouble. Warren B. was helping host a tour and lunch at one of the race horse owner's farm. He has so much enthusiasm for his horses and loves to show them off. We joined a group called the Fun 100 making us part owner's on claims of some horses. One of the perks was getting to attend the farm tour today. We arrived to a larger horse operation with big barns, pens, and horse walkers. It looked like a very nice place. We got to wander and see the barns and a few horses. WE saw one of Warren's horses a 2 year old that stands 16 1/2 hands. That is incredible. Then we got on a hay rack and the took us out to see more. WoW! It was amazing, acres of rolling pasture and fences that went on and on. It looked like something you would see in Kentucky.
The girls were in awe, as was I. We were taken down to a little sun room with a caboose built into it. This was where they were serving lunch. Jake met a 10 year old boy named Cam. The two were instant friends. Cam was small built and about a foot shorter than Jake. He was the grandson of the owner, so he knew the place in and out. The two of them climbed all over the caboose ;laughing and having the best time. Lunch was smoked meat and very good. Next we took the Templeton Rye's very own shuttle bus to the mare and foal farm. There were 3 babies, one of them just 24 hours old. The owner gave us all kinds of interesting facts and information, such as 10 days after the mare foals, they haul her and baby all the way to Kentucky to be bred. Today was Mark's first day planting in the field.
