At 1:35 AM I was awoken from my sleep to the sound of debri hitting my window. I rolled over to wake Mark who was’t there. I realized he was still in the field. He told me he would go until 1 AM. I ran into the boys room and grabbed Luke out of his bed. Jake was already sitting up in his bed as it woke him too. Jayden was on her way out of her room too. I hurried them into the basement and calmy told them to stay put. I called Mark who had finished just moments before the storm hit. He got the tractor and planter to the shop and was going to head home. The wind was so strong I only glanced at the windows seeing things hit the windows. After a few minutes it seemd to die down. The kids all set up camp in our bedroom and slept. The rest of the night was an occasional thunderstorm. Never did a weather radio go off or warn us. The next morning when the sun came up we looked out our windows to see the mess. The windows on the south and west of our house were coverd in splatted mud as was the house. Tree limbs and branches were all over. Two more limbs broke from our apple tree. Corn stalks were everywhere covering the grass along the asparagus patch. Even the horse lot
was cleared of all manure. The play houses and swings were scatterd and blown apart. There was a metal wagon in the neighbors field. We had one old dead tree completely uprooted. The side miorror on the truck was shattered, and the Morton building was caved in on the west side. I don’t know what kind of storm we had but it was wild. We spent the day washing off the house and windows and picking up limbs. We heard on the news the Ames, Boone and Ogden area had a storm they are calling an F zero.
