My Uncle Dean Laugerman went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2012. He was my mom’s triplet brother. He was my Uncle and my dad’s hired man for several years when I was growing up. I spent a lof of time with my cousin Angie and have many memories. I remember my Uncle Dean’s artwork. He had a talent for drawing cartoon’s that were so awesome. He drew many large drawings with a black clear sheet with the outline of his drawing and the paper under it colored with special markers. On occasion Angie and I got to use these markers and we thought we were really special to get to color with them. Throughout high school I had a knack for drawing and enjoyed it. Everything I drew, whether animal or a vehicle, it always looked a little like a cartoon. I discovered that I did my best work drawing cartoon characters and filled many artbooks with looney tunes characters and percious moments characters. I think that some of my talent came through my Uncle Dean. I recall Dean’s sweet tooth. I knew he always had candy and not just a little, he always had candy in bulk, good sweet sugary candy. I also remember many hours of walking beans as a kid. It was a big exciting deal when my Dad created the bean bar. He made a bar that he placed in front of the tractor with 4 seats and umbrellas. We got to sit and ride the bean bar while spraying for weeds in the bean field. Dean was the driver most times. He liked to keep us awake and alert by occasionally driving really fast, or driving backwards. Rose and Dean took Wade and i to AWANA with John and Angie. I have many memories of my AWANA days and now my kids are in the AWANA program. Dean was an AWNA leader and loved the Lord. Dean was dignosed with ataxia just like my Grandpa and cousin Angie. It took over his body and for the past several years he has been bed ridden. It was hard to see him slowly fail. Rose has been such an inspiration in her ability to care for him and so devoted. Dean was strong in his faith and loved the Lord. His funeral was a great testimony of his faith and all the lives that he touched because of his faith. It was a wonderful sermon and neat to hear so many stories of bringing family and friends to know Christ. The picture I have posted is one of my favorite, Angie and her Daddy, this is how I picture them smiling and dancing before Jesus.
