Jayden and Makenna thought up the idea of giving horse lessons. They both set their minds to it and had big ideas. They even sent permissions slips out to kids in the school. We got the girls thoughts into perspective and told them we could have a one day horse camp with siblings and maybe some friends we know. So the girls have been planning this all spring and into summer. Today they finally got to have their lessons. Our family, minus Luke, brought our 3 horses and a cooler of food. The Hunt family came with several of their horses. The girls had nametags and assigned tie locations on the fence for each horse. They started out by giving a demonstration on grooming and saddling. They are very good little instructors. Next the girls led the younger kids around on different horses. Then we took a break to eat burgers and hot dogs. Finally everyone got to ride in the Spillmans big lot. Jacob was having a blast just being there with all the fun. They have a duck, pet squirrel, pot belly pig, dogs, chinchillas, baby chics, and over 20 cats. They have 4 wheelers, a giant sandbox, a trampoline, and a swimming pool. As Jake was roaming around, he came up to me and said,” This is quite an amusement park they have.” He was cooperative for the horse riding part, but he had no interest in it with all the other things to do. We rode until dark and put the horses away. Jayden and Makenna presented each of the kids with awards for participating with ribbon and candy. They enjoyed every bit of it.
