Bright and early Sunday morning we left Karen and Orrie’s, as we still were without power. We were in Des Moines, then Cincinnati, then finally Orlando at 4:30. The first flight was awful for me. I tried my hardest to stay calm and not let my fear show as the kids were not used to flying. I was sitting with Jayden and the turbulence was bad. We were going up and down and side to side. I closed my eyes and held on. I was trying to keep myself calm as I was feeling like I was on a roller coaster. I had taken my Dramamine, but after all that I felt sick and couldn’t wait to get off the plane. Jacob sat with Daddy by the window and didn’t know any different so enjoyed it all. We arrived to our hotel at 6, and we had dinner reservations at 7:15. I was certain we would have time to clean up and change clothes. That was not the case and we were told to hurry along. Our first evening we attended the Hoop Dee Doo musical review. I had remembered this from when I was a little kid and we went. It took place in an old saloon setting and the singers and dancers entertain you while you eat. You are fed from big metal buckets of food and mason jar glasses. The food was awesome and more than plentiful, way too much. Ironically we were seated next to a farm family from North Dakota. Right away Mark was talking farm. They had a boy and a girl close to Jayden and Jake’s ages. The show was good and the food great. It was a neat way to start out the week. When we got back we were all tired and ready for bed. Our hotel room was done up like a pirate room and our beds like ships. Pretty cool.
