Good-bye Florida

Our flight was 12:30 out of Orland, through Memphis, and in Iowa at 4:30. Back to home, back to reality, brrr 22 degrees. We couldn’t get home fast enough. Jacob was telling me to hurry up as he wanted to sit with Luke. When we walked into our house, Luke spotted us and began to squeal and scream with excitement. He ran as fast as he could to us with arms open. He giggled and squealed as he hugged each person with such happiness. It was the sweetest thing ever. We missed him so much. We brought him back a giant Mickey Mouse as part souvenir, part birthday present. He was thrilled with it and hugged it and carried it all over. He has been able to say Mickey Mouse so well for some time. He says it so cute. He also got his own little chair for his birthday so we could do away with the baby bouncy seat. He sits in his little chair with his Mickey Mouse and watches his shows now. He is like a little man in his easy chair. Everyone loves a vacation, but it's always great to be home.

Our Last Day of Disney Magic

Today was our last full day in Florida. We chose to go to the Magic Kingdom and arrived 20 minutes before the opening countdown. We headed straight for the Indy Speedway car track. We got on without a wait and Jake drove a car with Dad and Jayden drove with me. The cars are on somewhat of a track, however you have to control the accelerator and the steering. Jake loved the ride. We stayed in Tomorrowland until lunch. We decided on the Liberty restaurant once again as it was the best food we had. Being served enormous amounts of food, I felt so guilty as our waiter was from Haiti. I could not imagine how many people could be fed with the meal we had. The protions served at the parks are so wasteful. We spent the afternoon hitting favorite rides before it started to rain and we said goodbye to Magic Kingdom. Later in the evening we ate at Downtown Disney and walked around for one last time. It was a vacation I hope we will all cherish and remember.

Disney's Hollywood Studios

Today was our day at Hollywood Studios. Mark started the morning with the famous and daring ride “The Tower Of Terror.” He went and we waited. It is an elevator that drops 5 stories. He loved it. Hollywood Studios has mostly shows and a few rides. The Toy Story Mania ride was very popular and we all enjoyed it. There was also a neat stunt car show we liked. Honey I shrunk the kids playground was something we had to visit over and over so Jake could play on the playground. Along the way we saw more characters, the Mator and Mcqeeun were neat and of course the “Up” characters from one of the newest movies out. Jayden was all about the characters and Jacob spotted cars and trucks and wanted his picture taken with them. We also were given a tip before our trip to buy some disney pins to trade. I paid $1 a piece for each pin for the kids to each have ten pins to trade. At the parks these same pins are $10-$15 each. Jayden got into the pin trading on day one and by the end of the week she ha

Disney's Epcot

Today was our day at Epcot. We still haven’t had a warm enough day to shed the long sleeves, but the sun is shinning and back home it is snowing. We got to the park to see the characters singing and dancing for the opening countdown. As soon as the rope dropped every single person in that park headed to “soarin”. It is the most popular attraction and it was a race. Nobody ran, but it was a steady flow and we waited 15 minutes to get on. You sit in seats that lift up and you feel as if you are hang gliding. The screen shows you an image as if you are flying high above the mountains and water in California and you can smell oranges as you soar over the orange fields. I told Jake not to get his feet wet when we soared over the waters, so he lifted his feet up, it was so cute. It was a neat ride. We saw the talking sea turtle Crush. He was pretty cool as he was interactive and could see you and answer your questions. There were lots more rides and shows. One of the favorites was the test t

Downtown Disney

For our evening entertainment we went to Downtown Disney. This area is full of shops and restaurants . We ate at a T-Rex dinosaur place. The atmosphere was so cool! Full of dinosaurs that moved and made noise. It felt so real inside. All this trip we have had so much to eat and we eat all the time. Tonight we ordered appetizers and dessert. We may have saved on the bill, but we sure didn't eat healthy. That’s vacation!
