They were predicting 14 inches of snow and 50 mile hour winds by afternoon. We knew the forecast and Mark wanted the kids to just stay home. Sure enough the school was letting out at 11:30, so there wasn’t much sense sending them. The snow came down and the winds came up. Nights like this make you very appreciative of a warm house and electricity!! By morning the next day, all schools were closed and we were snowed in. The kids still ventured outside several times to be in the snow and play with the cats in the old garage. It was cold and the wind sounded so chilling. Wed. night we saw the kids school closed again for Thursday. We watched tv and played the game Life. Luke also started a fever and I wonder what was wrong. He just wanted to be held and rocked. He would say ouchie and I ask him to show me where it hurts and he signs hurt. Poor little guy. Thursday morning bitter cold -11, brrr. Mark got out the tractor bright and early to begin scooping snow. Jake jumped out of bed when he heard the tractor and headed out to ride. Luke saw Jake head to the tractor and the tears flowed. He cried so hard, more than ever. He kept saying, “Tractor, Ride, Daddy.” I felt so bad. He also still has a fever.
