Easter started for us on Good Friday. We took Karen and Orrie out to Hickory Park for dinner to celebrate Karen's birthday. From there Mark and I went to a very enjoyable Good Friday church service. Our church had a really special Last Supper service. We even broke a real baguette for bread in groups of 8. It was a service on the last supper, the death on the cross and the 2 criminals on the cross next to Jesus and the Roman Centurium. Due to all the family happenings, we celebrated Easter with all the relatives at Karen's on Saturday for lunch. Everyone was present, except Jayden's family and Abby's family. In the afternoon the little kids had an Easter egg hunt. Titus had a nap on the way down and was well rested and a happy little guy. It sure makes a difference when he gets a good nap in. He liked to take my hand and sit me down to play. He still isn't talking much and I can't understand him when he does. He loved the egg hunt and got eggs with his favorite character, Lightning McQueen. All the little kids were so cute wandering through the yard.
Jayden was so excited for Easter. She had plans to start new traditions with her little family. She wanted to dress up and go to church, have a picnic, and hunt for deer sheds. She also took it upon herself and invited all of Noah's family for an evening Easter dinner, since they were all gone for the weekend. All of her plans came to a halt when she became sick. Noah had the stomach bug on Thursday evening and all of Friday. It hit Jayden on Saturday night and she was up all night every hour. Then Easter afternoon it hit Colt and bottles would come back up. Such a rough time for their little family. Jayden was so sick and it took a lot out of her. It really messed up her stomach for a long time. It just made me sad she didn't get to have the special day she hoped. A couple weeks later she was able to attend church and dress Colt in his Easter outfit. She picked the prettiest bouquet of flowers on the ranch.
Easter Sunday morning we were up early and leaving by 7:30 for the church in Eagle Grove. Jake was looking good in his sprots jacket. I love when the boys dress up. Ali and Bridget got baptized at the Lutheran church. Anderlik's also invited us for lunch. It was just their family, the Mitchell's, ours, and Karen and Orrie. I really enjoy the small intimate gatherings. It is calm, quiet, and good conversation. It was kind of nice to have that time with our families. It may be the first time we have ever gotten together with just our families. I had fun with Eli and Everly. They are so fun and so well behaved.
