Girl's Easter Baptism

Ali and Bridget decided to be baptized in their new church in Eagle. It was a very traditional Lutheran church with communion and baptisms. Our family and Karen went to the church service and all sat up toward the front where family are seated. We were in tight like sardines. Titus sat with Ali and Blake and was a wiggle worm that quickly escalated into him being very disruptive. He would squeal and kick when held, and started going up and down the aisle. He was a handful. Bridget was very emotional for her baptism and Bridget and Ali got baptized together. I will continue to pray for them both that they will walk with the Lord and grow in their faith. It was a special day for both of them and I was happy to see them make the step in faith. I do hope they will become involved in the church and attend regularly. Without childcare in the nursery, I think it will be really challenging. Things that take effort are hard for them. Blake's mom was ordering some pizzas and having cake aft

Easter

Easter started for us on Good Friday. We took Karen and Orrie out to Hickory Park for dinner to celebrate Karen's birthday. From there Mark and I went to a very enjoyable Good Friday church service. Our church had a really special Last Supper service. We even broke a real baguette for bread in groups of 8. It was a service on the last supper, the death on the cross and the 2 criminals on the cross next to Jesus and the Roman Centurium. Due to all the family happenings, we celebrated Easter with all the relatives at Karen's on Saturday for lunch. Everyone was present, except Jayden's family and Abby's family. In the afternoon the little kids had an Easter egg hunt. Titus had a nap on the way down and was well rested and a happy little guy. It sure makes a difference when he gets a good nap in. He liked to take my hand and sit me down to play. He still isn't talking much and I can't understand him when he does. He loved the egg hunt and got eggs with his favorite

Sick Bug

Mark seems to get a lot of colds and not feel well most of the winter. He ends up with sinus infection or just a lot of congestion and crud. When he is sick, he has a whole pharmacy of meds. Fortunately I don't get sick too often. Right before Easter, I was feeling crummy. I was supposed to take photos of all the kids at the gym with the Easter bunny, but felt like I should make sure I wasn't contagious. I  thought I should probably get tested for Covid. I used two test kits and one said I was positive and one said negative. Well that really helped. I decided to play it safe and stay home. I felt like I had a cold, no big deal. Here is what I take when I am sick (elderberries) verses what Mark takes when he is sick. It is kind of funny.

Bride to Be

Jayden went on a girls day trip to Fredericksburg for Cynthia's bach party. Ester also put on a cute shower for her with the theme having lots of honey bees, for the bride to bee.

A Very Special Truck

Lindie's son Blake wanted to give Jake the first opportunity to buy Lindie's old truck. He got it all cleaned up and ready to sell. He was appreciative and sentimental and of course he said yes. Lindie was a family friend and a friend to the boys. They got to spend a lot of time with Lindie in the tractor and talking cars and trucks. They thought a lot of each other. The truck is 24 years old and has a ton of miles on it, but looks pretty good. It fits in well with all the other white trucks on the farm. Jake took it out on his first drive at sunset and there was a beautiful sky with all the purples and pinks. On the radio a song came on saying..".if you get there before I do, don't wait up for me, ". He was emotional and told me about it feeling Lindie was looking down.

Bright Blue Wheels

Luke has been searching trucks on various websites looking for just the right truck to call his own. He wanted his own truck the day he could legally drive with a school permit, age 14. We kept telling him he had to wait until he was 16. We had trucks for him to drive, he drives his Grandpa M.' F150 often and our white Chevy. He has been working and keeping track of hours for the past couple years. He has a chore chart and logs his hours and gets paid. He does work afterschool almost every single night and fills his weekends working. He has been working very hard and saving up to get a truck of his own. Trucks are extremely expensive. With Jayden and Jake, once they were in College or done with college and making money, they have the option to buy the one that they are using of ours or get something they pick out. Luke wants to start paying for a truck now. He wanted to pay half and feel like it is part his truck. We made an agreement and came up with a budget. The first truck Luk

Grand Gym Hoops

Mark has put his time, money, sweat, tears, and prayers into the gym. He has spent hours upon hours working, cleaning, meeting with contractors,  emailing, making phone calls, and attending bi monthly meetings. He has dedicated so much time and is driven to continue forward amidst the difficulties and naysayers. We are now into year number 2.  Earlier in the year, he was able to get and install basketball hoops, a $16,000 project. He received a nice grant to cover the costs of his hoops. He had a crew of board members help install the hoops. This was such a big step forward and gave everyone a boost of enthusiasm, especially when we got to try them out.  In late January, Mark and I made the first baskets in those hoops and played a few rounds of HORSE. We were both a little rusty, but warmed up and got pretty competitive. It was super cold in that gym, but we warmed up and played some ball.  Grand Heritage Foundation was happy to receive a grant to cover the Basketball hoops.

Frozen JR

Bridget was part of the FD school's Frozen Junior theatre performance. It sounded fun and i asked Karen to join me. I took her out for dinner at a Mexican restaurnt for an early birthday treat. The waiter was going to bring her a free shot for her birthday which we laughed pretty hard over. Instead she got Mexican frozen ice cream and it was so good. The Frozen performance was outstanding. I did not have high expectations, but this performance was so good. There was so much talent on that stage and some amazing little voices. Bridget had small parts as village people and dwarfs in the forest. The costumes were also just fantastic. We really enjoyed the evening.

Colt 3 months

Our little boy is 3 months old! I just love his little 3 month photo, Jayden does such a good job keeping him well photographed. Colt is really starting to fill out and is losing the newborn look. Colt has a really hard time falling to sleep for bedtime and he doesn't want to nap either. He gets very tired and just cries and cries. Jayden has figured out that if she puts him in her wrap, he gets all snuggled in and goes to sleep. This works well for a nap and he will sleep around 30 minutes as long as he is in it. This also gives her a chance to get outside and take some walks. Colt seems to have grown so much in a month.
