1/13/23 Brock has been in the spotlight since his first NFL appearance. He is doing so great! He has become a household name in the NFL league. He went from an ISU Collge player to Mr. Irrelevant, to a overnight celebrity. I have followed Brock from his freshmen year at ISU on Instagram. It is crazy to think that he has been involved in CS Salt ministry. We have really enjoyed watching him play and will continue as I am a big fan!
1/23/23 Brock Purdy continues his success with 7-0 wins since he has been put in the drivers seat as 49ers QB. I am so excited for this young man and the success he is having. I know that his roots are grounded in Christ and he is giving glory to God even if he isn't able to broadcast it on television. We live in such strange times that sharing your faith is somehow negative. All in all I am excited for him and proud to call him a former Cyclone. In church on Sunday our pastor gave a shout out and mentioned Brock as being a Salt leader. It says a lot about the young man. So very cool! He is doing a fantastic job as a 23 year old rookie player and keeps breaking records. So former Iowa State Cyclone QB and current San Francisco 49ers QB, Brock Purdy just became the first NFL rookie QB to lead their team to an NFL Conference Championship game since Mark Sanchez did it in 2009… Tonight, the 49ers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 19-12 in the NFC Divisional Playoff game and will play the Philadelphia Eagles next weekend in the NFC Championship game. If they win that one, the 49ers will be Super Bowl-bound. Purdy, 23, remains undefeated through seven appearances as a rookie, including two postseason wins. While the seventh-round draft pick remains humble and refuses to speak about himself, Kittle praised Purdy for leading the Niners to the NFC Championship game. "He's only won, I think, like seven in a row now," Kittle said. "Good job, Brock. Playing at a high level. Giving our best players the football. He's awesome and confident in the huddle. "He's just doing a great job. The best part is he shows up every single day, he's humble and all he wants to do is get better. And he's gonna be great for us next week and just continue on after that." The Purdy-Kittle connection clearly extends past the field, with the veteran TE seemingly taking the rookie QB under his wing, a "bromance" NFL fans did not know they needed. In the first quarter of Sunday's NFC Championship Game, Niners rookie quarterback Brock Purdy suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow that will keep him out for six months. The injury happened on the Niners' sixth offensive snap in their 31-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Just pain really, all over." Purdy sustained the injury with 7:03 left in the opening quarter. On second-and-6 at the 50, he dropped back and prepared to fire a deep pass to receiver Aiyuk off of play action. But before Purdy could get the throw off, Eagles pass-rusher Reddick blew past Niners tight end Tyler Kroft and hit Purdy just as he was about to throw. The ball bounced off Purdy's elbow and flew forward to Philadelphia's 44. Purdy said he tried to throw a few passes but immediately knew something was wrong when he couldn't make any throws longer than 5 to 10 yards. He came out of the game but was later forced to return when backup Josh Johnson suffered a concussion. Because of Purdy's injury, he attempted just four passes, completing all of them for 23 yards.
