10/10/15 This weekend is the Escape high school Cornerstone retreat. I never told Jayden she should go or she should not go. It was 100% all her decision. She wanted to go so bad and signed up with hopes that a friend could go with. After asking 3 friends, she decided that would not deter her from going. She had girls she knew from her small group, but none that she felt would be close to hang out with. Dan and Angelia’s daughter was also going to the retreat. They lined it up to meet at our home and the girls would go out to Hidden Acres together and wait for the bus to come from Ames. The bus would leave Ames at 10:30 and arrive at Hidden Acres at 11:30PM. Yes, at night! It was silly for Jayden to go to Ames to catch a bus when we live 15 minutes away. The Buhrs came out at 8PM. Angelia had to stop on the sidewalk and wait for her contractions. I was in awe, but she said that happens a lot and has been going on all day. I am the back up plan if she goes into labor I am to bring Sammantha to the hospital. I had a feeling the baby would be born this weekend. We visited awhile, then I took the girls out at 10. The two of them played volleyball and hung out. During the retreat the girls went their separate ways because of the age difference and they each have their own friends. It was a two night stay in the bunk rooms with lots of games outside, a dance, activites, worship, and talks. She really had a good time and I enjoyed hearing all the stories. Jayden’s phone clocked that she had run 12 miles just in one evening. They had a wild game of capture the flag and Jayden was one who did most of the running on her team. They had super hero theme's for teams and she was on the Batman team. I am so proud of her for taking the initiative to go to something like that without even having someone to go with. She is so grown up and such a great kid.
