Soccer & Birthday Party

The first game of the season for Luke’s team started out a bit on the “Oh My, this could be bad” kind of game. His team has two boys including himself and a whole bunch of giggly girls. They are all first graders age 6 and 7. The team they were against was second graders, that were much taller and looked tough with 4 boys. Luke was on their team last year. Luke’s team did well, got right in there and after the ball. The first half Luke ran back and forth, kicked the ball a few times, then discovered he liked to hang back and play goalie. When the other team kicked a ball down to his end, he did a good job of kicking it back. It worked for him. By the second half he was hanging back almost the entire game.

The second half of the day we went to celebrate Alivia's 8th birthday. She had a family party with Pretty Pony decorations. She even had a giant pony balloon. This years party was quiet without all the school friends. Jake got into a bit of trouble. He and Alivia like to gang up on Luke and hide from him or just be mean, hide his shoe,s or throw dirt in his face. Jake had a long talking to about showing love to his brother and we left a little earlier.
.It was also the first time we got to see Alice since she is back.
Mark and Jayden went down south to Centerville to pick up a horse to try for the boys. A friend of a friend told us about the horse. We didn't ask questions or see the horse and just went by what the friend said. Bad idea. When they brought the horse home, I couldn't get it back fast enough. It was so sway back it looked awful. I can't see how that would be healthy for a horse to be riddeen and it would be embarrassing to take anywhere. That was one of a list of bad qualities we discoverd with the horse when we did give it a try. Both riding and on the ground, he was not a horse we wanted to have around. Another no go for the boys.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
