We had a
busy day. We started the morning going to church, ate a quick lunch at
Mcdonald’s on our way to Webster City. Next we went to the Christmas production
“The Best Little Christmas Pageant Ever.” My parents got us all tickets along
with Wade’s family. Then we went to Godfather’s for pizza and a game of gifts. My
mother had neatly wrapped several small gifts for a fun game. Alivia and the
boys had their own table so they could be silly. The 3 of them bring out the
wild in one another. We ate supper at 4:00. Last we had our trip meeting. We
started with a nice devotion to get us focusing on the trip and our purpose. It
was so good to hear and much needed. It hasn’t been a good week at our house
with the water situation and everyone has been on edge. Getting ready for the
trip was just adding to stress. This
morning our church talked about finding Joy in Christ. Tonight we talked about
giving ourselves away to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to help the least of
these. It was so good to tie them all together and think about the purpose of
our trip, rather than getting wrapped up in last minute Christmas shopping,
sending out more cards, cleaning, and packing. We will embark on an 8 day trip
of which we have no idea what to expect, we are just being obedient to God in
being living sacrifices and serving those in need. At the meeting, everyone is getting pretty
excited about the trip and there was much to talk about. Our shirts were ready
and we are wearing them as a group in the airport.
