While in Kansas City, we visited Mark's cousins Darrel and Lauren. We went out to eat with them at the T-Rex restaurant. We also spent an afternoon at the K.C. Science center while Mark went to a pirate and train exhibit. There was a lot to see and do. The Science center was in the old K.C train depot. It is still very awesome to see with its high fancy ceilings. To top of the fun, we went to the newest movie out in theaters, "Planes". The Disney animated movie was a big hit. We all enjoyed it and even got to see it in 3-D. That is the first time we have watched an entire movie in 3-D. It was very cool.
Of course we spent lots of time in the water park. Obesity is such a problem and to see evidence just go to a water park. We also noticed the majority of adults had tattoos. Another thing about the hotel that I did not care for were the numerous opportunities for guests to spend their money. Food, gift
shop, kids spa, arcade, wizard wands, candy and dessert shops, cabanas it was
a money trap. I felt like overindulgence on everything. Everywhere you looked there was something to splurge on. It is such a temptation and the kids want to do it all. We did our best to avoid those things and just enjoy what we were their for, the water.
