This weekend was the big Weilbrenner/ Muench families reunion. Our family headed to Verna Mae and Lavern’s house and arrived mid afternoon Saturday. The kids did some swimming and then everyone headed to the pond for fishing until dark. Everyone took a try at fishing, very few were caught this time. Hot dogs and lots of desserts were shared along with visiting. I always enjoy the triplets and talking with them. Jacob found two little girls 7 & 8 years old and he decided they were his girlfriends. He even picked them a flower. He was pretty cute. Luke was such a mama’s boy, didn't want anyone holding him or near him except mama or daddy. We chased him the whole night. Jayden and Allie and all the kids went with Suzy on a “snipe hunt”. I knew all about that, but the kids all got there first lesson in snipe hunting. Suzy and Tim took the kids out in the pitch dark hayfield in groups of 3 with a bag and left them for about an hour. Of course Suzy and Tim were the only ones who were laughing. Jayden did not enjoy the hunt and later discovered it was a joke. It was pretty late when we got to bed somewhere near midnight.
Day two was more swimming for the kids and a big family and neighbor gathering for lunch. There were some 60 people with fried fish and pies galore. For Mark and I, it was more chasing Luke. He spotted tractors and that was his glory going to see them. Allie went down earlier with Grandma and got to spend a lot of time with Kallie Mae. Late afternoon the adults and a few kids played a game of volleyball. Yes, my Mark is very competitive and took on the entire court. He likes to dominate. All the while Jake was in the pool for hours. He did cannon balls over and over. He had a floaty on as the pool is over his head. Between the pool and jumping on the trampoline both Jayden and Jacob went non-stop until 8:30 at night. They never stopped. It was pretty late getting to bed again. I got Luke and Jake tucked in and sleeping and went to take a shower when Luke woke up and cried screaming for an hour. We gave Tylenol and suspect a leg ache. He kept everyone up past 11.
