BLM Black Lives Matter's Agenda

9/21/20  Taken from CBN News... Social media users noticed Monday the controversial Black Lives Matter organization — the radical business behind the “social justice” movement — deleted its oft-cited “what we believe” page.  Faithwire: Terry Crews Stands Firm as CNN’s Don Lemon Lectures Him Over ‘Militant’ Black Lives Matter Agenda   In the since-removed section of the website, Black Lives Matter said its mission is to “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure,” to “dismantle the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work ‘double shifts’ so that they can mother in private even as they participate in public justice work,” as well as “foster a queer-affirming network” by “freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual.”    I’m surprised this didn’t happen earlier. Won’t forget, though. They want to “dismantle the Western-prescribed nuclear family,” and though they mention both “mothers

Automotive Tech Program

When Jake was in 8th grade I had Mark take him to a DMACC Automotive and Diesel college visit. He got to tour the college and sit in on a half day tour. He thought it was awesome and decided that is what he wanted to do. I knew they had a high school program where kids could start their Junior year and take courses for 2 years as part of the program and finish with a couple years of college earning their license or degree. I put a lot of time, thought, and prayer into the idea. Being open enrolled in Ogden high school, he had the perfect opportunity. I had a lot of concerns and was hesitant, yet I wanted to do what was best for Jake. I decided it would be better for him as a high schooler to start into the program to decide if it was really what he wanted to do with his future. It would also be a huge savings taking the classes and having the school pay for it.  Mark and I both discussed it and agreed to give it a try before asking Jake what he thought. Jake liked the idea and wanted

Back to Reality

After arriving back in Iowa, life was back to normal in a hurry. School each morning, grocery shopping, Tuesday dentist, Wednesday youth group.  O how that beach week was amazing. Once we returned, the weather channel showed Hurricane Sally had made her way to land, dumping rain and wind on the area we just left. The coastline of Destin, Panama City and over to Moline Alabama were affected. The storm was slow, moving at 2 miles per hour and winds up in the 100's. The rain was torrential up into the 20 inch range. We were so fortunate to have had the amazing week that we did and get home before the storm! The storm would ruin any vacation plans and many lost power.  Looking back again on our plans, we were supposed to go this week to Florida, however Dan knew the owner and was able to talk him into letting us go a week earlier.  In addition, the entire week we were in Florida, the weather was great, then it turned from 90 degrees into the 40's and stayed in the 40-50's all

Running Joker

Jayden and Joker have been making some good runs and clocking faster times. They are getting closer to the top all the time. He is such a neat horse. I love seeing videos and photos of their runs. They are a good team.

Florida Day 4,5

Beach day! Angelia rented a spot on the beach for two days that included a chair and umbrella. I wanted to make sure Jayden got to be in on at least one day.  We had to take her back to the airport and would leave the beach around 2:00 in order for her 5:00 flight. I knew we were paying a hefty rate to have the beach spot and wanted to make the most of our time and money. The cost was more than we had every paid for a chair or cabana on the beach. I was up at 7:30 dressed and packed to go find our spot at the beach. Our family was up and ready, but the other girls were still in bed and our friends still in pajamas drinking coffee and in no hurry at all. My patience was really being tested and I could feel myself getting upset. I felt bad for Jayden, wanted to make the most of her last day too. We couldn't walk to the spot on the beach, so had to wait until everyone was ready. It was 11when we all got on the beach. Mark was overly worried about getting Jayden to the airport on time

Florida Vacation with Friends Day 1,2,3

This was our first family trip with friends and it turned out to be a  great experience for all of us. Back in February we attended the ISU alumni Gala with our friends. They asked if we would like to bid on a one week vacation in Watercolor Florida. We had talked many times about our families going on a trip together and this sounded like a good way to do it. Not only would we get to vacation, we also would be helping to fund the scholarship program for a first generation college student. With that, we agreed to bid. We set our limit bid price and the auction started with Angelia bidding. It was climbing fast and I doubted our price would last. It got to our max bid price and the bidding stopped. Just like that, it was ours. It went for the exact price we set as our limit! It was meant to be, we were going on a vacation!    Jacob made the choice to stay home. He was afraid to miss to much of his class, thought out trip sounded boring, and offered to take care of pets and chores. It fe
