First Day of School

Today was Jacob’s first day of school. Jayden was very sick and that mean’t Jake could not ride the bus and Grandpa took him and picked him up the first 2 days of school. Jake wore a John Deere shirt and shorts. He had the front of his hair spiked up with gel. He looked pretty darn cute. He had his Transformer’s backpack. He told me he couldn’t wait to see his friend Tanner. After school I can't wait to hear all about his day, and he is speechless. He never tells us anything about school. The first two days of school for Jayden were not good. She woke up the first day burning hot with a fever of 103. She was achey and miserable. She took several long naps throughout the day. The next morning she thought she felt better, but ended up throwing up and had a miserable day. She spoke to her two best friends Hannah Vaughn and Claire Whalen on the phone. They told her it just wasn’t the same at school without Jayden there.

Last Day To Play

Today was the last official day of summer break for the kids. I had been getting the kids up around 7AM to get them used to the new wake up time. Jake was not adjusting well and was extra crabby. He was not very cooperative and Jayden wanted so badly to play with him. He ended up going in the semi, and fell asleep for 2 hours. When he left Jayden cried and told me she wanted to play with Jake as it was the last day of summer and she would miss him so much at school.

Backyard Sleepover

We had to squeeze in our annual(4th) cousin backyard sleepover before school started. As the kids get older, it is harder and harder to find time. Our kids look so forwad to it. This year the Anderlik’s came and Jaynie and Rylie. We had fun water games and even a race to see who could put on a frozen solid wet t-shirt first. It was the most fun seeing them freeze as they put it on. We also had smores over the fire. The plan is always to sleep in the tents outside, however just as the smore roasting ended, the winds came up and it rained.

Photographing

I love to get the camera out and photograph the kids. I want to improve my photography and get some great photos of the kids. Jayden dolled herself all up like a rock star and Jake I just wanted a good one of him in his blue jeans. With Luke we did the bubble bath tub and he was cute. I was happy with how they all turned out!

Jaynie's Birthday

Today we clebrated cousin Jaynie Ferrari’s 7th birthday. The kids were so tired after the wedding, especially Jayden. She was supposed to spend the night, but had no energy to do much at all. The kids all went to the swimming pool, then we met later at the park for supper and cake. Troy made ribs and sweet corn. It was quite the eating. The kids ran around the playground and had fun. The cousins love to hear Luke giggle and fuss over him too.

Wedding Reception

On to the reception Jake got to sit and eat at the wedding party table. Everyone at the table had their food brought to them, so Jake had adult portions of everything on his plate. He dug in. Then, Jacob went non-stop running around with kids inside and out. He had his white shirt on all untucked and messy. Orrie and Karen brought Luke for the wedding and a little of the reception. When they were leaving he was shrieking cries. He was ready to get out of there. THe wedding was like a big family and friend reunion. All the cousins were together and we got a big photyo taken. It was fun to see old friends I had not seen for a long time. The band was good, but loud, really loud! Jacob would plug his ears when in the building. Once I took him out on the dance floor to dance. He would not let go of his ears, so I sat down with him. He went running off and later I was looking all over for him. I saw him sitting on a ladies lap that I did not know. I went up to her and she looked at me and sa

Wahlert Wedding

Then it was wedding time. I wanted Jake to stand in front of the church as long as he could. We weren’t sure how that would go. I was a bridesmaid and got to walk down the aisle with my Daddy. That was kind of sweet. The last time was at my wedding. Jake was last after Santanna. He walked up the isle holding Lucy’s hand the whole way and carrying a giant diamond ring. Lucy didn’t have a free hand to drop the flower pedals. In front Jake stood next to Grandpa. He did pretty good, he was squirmy and moved around a lot, but managed to stay up front the entire wedding. The service was nice and the songs too. I am so happy that my brother has finally found someone to spend his life with and someone we all like so well. I pray for their marriage together. Going back down the aisle was the sweetest part. Lucy and Jake were trying to hold hands for the walk back, but they kept getting mixed around, one facing the front and one the back. They kept trying to switch hands and turn directions. Oh

Wedding Preparations

Saturday morning the girls all went to get their hair done in Webster City. Patty did my hair and Jayden ’s. I loved my hair, it was big and lots of curls. Having straight hair, it is a fun change. I was glad Jayden got to be included in so much of the wedding party activities too. Jake went with Peepaw (my dad) to an old time car storage. By 11:00 we were all at the church getting dressed. Jake was so cute in his brown tuxedo. The white shirt was too small to button around his neck, the vest was too big to fasten properly and his shoes were too small. Other than that he looked great. Pictures, pictures, pictures, filled the rest of the day. We even walked to the park in the unbearable heat for some more pictures. Jayden practiced singing into the microphone from the balcony all day. She even sang a few of her favorite tunes being silly. She sings the Sugarland song, “ Al I wanna Do ooh ooh ooh ooo , is love you, “ song awesome.
